What a year! We completed harvesting soybeans on the 3rd, and wrapped up the corn on October 6th. That is roughly 2 months earlier than last year!
The fantastic weather has allowed for washing equipment for storage, tillage and land improvement projects. To address the soil compaction created from the recent wet years, we have started to run a deep-tillage implement over a few no-till farms. No-till is a farming practice of growing crops from year to year without disturbing the soil through tillage. We hope the tool will eliminate soil hardpans that limit the plant’s root penetration.
