As we move another week closer to spring planting, more winter projects are quickly approaching their deadline. Each year we replace many components on our corn planter to reduce the risk of mechanical failures… we hope to have our planter put back together and out of the shop this week. After this project’s completion, we will begin re-plumbing the liquid-fertilizer nurse system for our sprayer. This nurse system will be updated with larger hoses to allow for less downtime when refilling our sprayer with chemical. We will also begin hauling rock from the Nokomis quarry this week for our grain bin project. I took this picture last week at a grain bin site east of Blue Mound. Although the entire day was overcast, the sun’s arrival was a grand entrance…pretty amazing! The second photo is of a Christian County sunrise from last week.
